About the accommodation

In 1979, Mr. Ramón Vargas García, a native of Mixtlán, Jalisco, built nine bungalows, with the desire to have one to holiday in this paradisiacal port and at the same time provide accommodation services to other families. Thus, in the summer of that year, Hotel Casa Vargas was born. The bungalows were of very rustic construction, with painted cement floors, exposed brick, and consisted of a living-dining room, kitchen, 1 or 2 bedrooms, bathroom, laundry room and fans. Over time, they ceased to be functional and were divided into rooms of different sizes. Ten years later, he acquired an adjoining lot, increasing the number of rooms. Upon the death of Don Ramon, the hotel was managed by his widow and later by his children. In 1996, the Vargas y Vargas family decided to change the name of the newly remodeled hotel. From among several proposals they chose "Mocali", since it seemed to them a simple word to pronounce and above all with a meaning: "your house", in Nahuatl, one of the native languages of our country. It ceased to be the home of its owners to become the home of each and every one of its guests
