About the accommodation

This youth hostel is located in the center of Helsinki, in a unique part of the city called Katajanokka, near the market square and the neighborhood where modernist buildings are located. You can walk to the attractions of the city, shops and restaurants, and just one step away is the arrivals terminal of the Stockholm and Tallinn ferries. The train and bus stations are about 2 km away, while Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is about 18 km from the hostel. This is one of the largest youth hostels in Scandinavia and is open all year. It has 135 rooms and 255 beds, and the accommodation has 2 categories: backpacker rooms and 'eurohostel' rooms. There is a lobby, 24-hour reception, safe, elevator and restaurant. For an extra cost you can use the WiFi Internet connection. There is a table with a chair and at least one lockable closet in each room. Each floor has its own cooking facilities: stoves, microwave oven, fridge with lock and TV. The rooms do not have a private bathroom, but it is shared. On each floor there is a separate toilet and shower for men and women. There is Internet connection in all rooms. The hostel has a sauna (for a fee). The licensed restaurant offers the most varied Finnish beers. A buffet breakfast is served daily for an extra charge. In the evening, the restaurant offers pizza and a la carte meals.
