The building originally served as a county prison and provisional detention center until the celebration of trials. The prison closed its doors in 2002. The open central corridor, the exterior walls of red brick and the wall surrounding the park are protected by the National Antiquities Council and serve as a reminder of the long and colorful history of the building. A complete restoration work, our modern and exclusive hotel opened its doors in May 2007.
