The best thing about the hotel, without a doubt, is the water Water Slides. My 10-year-old daughter loved them and, for children, they're a real attraction.
For the rest of the family, honestly, we couldn't find many other particularly appealing features worth mentioning. Maybe the bar area inside the pool is another interesting and unique point.
Overall, I think the hotel lacks a modern touch and really needs an improvement in the leisure areas and communal spaces. In some places, you can notice a lack of maintenance, and that makes the surroundings lose some of the charm they could have.
Based on our experience staying at this type of hotel, we think that with a refurbishment of these spaces and a bit more care, it could become a much more pleasant and idyllic place for adults too.

Para el resto de la familia, sinceramente, no hemos encontrado muchos otros elementos especialmente atractivos que destacar. Quizá la zona de bar dentro de la piscina sea otro punto interesante y diferenciador.
En general, creo que al hotel le falta un toque de actualidad y una mejora importante en los espacios de ocio y zonas comunes. En algunos puntos se percibe cierta falta de mantenimiento y eso hace que el entorno pierda parte del atractivo que podría tener.
Por nuestra experiencia visitando hoteles de este tipo, pensamos que, con una renovación de estos espacios y un poco más de cuidado, podría convertirse en un entorno mucho más agradable e idílico también para los adultos.
The hotel has a lot of potential and could become a great hotel, but right now it gives off a certain sense of neglect in some respects. There are areas that need a coat of paint, very modern spaces next to others that are quite outdated, and in certain places you notice a lack of cleanliness and maintenance.
For example, the reception is impeccable and very well looked after, whereas the terrace is quite old-fashioned and would need a refurbishment. That difference between the various areas makes the experience somewhat inconsistent.
I honestly believe that, with a solid investment and a renovation and maintenance plan, the hotel could improve a lot and become a really attractive establishment.
In its current state, and to be objective, my rating couldn’t be higher than a 6 out of 10. Not because it’s a bad hotel, but because it has huge potential that, as of today, still isn’t being realised.
El hotel tiene muchísimo potencial y podría llegar a ser un gran hotel, pero actualmente transmite cierta sensación de dejadez en algunos aspectos. Hay zonas que necesitan una mano de pintura, espacios muy renovados junto a otros bastante obsoletos y, en determinados lugares, se aprecia falta de limpieza y mantenimiento.
Por poner un ejemplo, la recepción está impecable y muy cuidada, mientras que la terraza resulta bastante anticuada y necesitaría una renovación. Esa diferencia entre unas zonas y otras hace que la experiencia sea algo irregular.
Creo sinceramente que, con una buena inversión y un plan de renovación y mantenimiento, el hotel podría mejorar muchísimo y convertirse en un establecimiento realmente atractivo.
En su estado actual, y siendo objetivo, mi valoración no podría superar un 6 sobre 10. No porque sea un mal hotel, sino porque tiene unas posibilidades enormes que, a día de hoy, todavía no están aprovechadas.

The thing I liked most, to say something positive, was the view we had and the way the staff treated us.

I am contacting you to submit a formal complaint regarding our stay from 14th to 19th August at the Hotel Bankur La Manga Splash, which we booked through Jump2spain.com.
Unfortunately, the experience was far below what we expected and did not match the conditions we believed we had booked. Our aim on this holiday was to relax and unwind, but from the very first day we encountered various problems that continued for nearly the entire stay.
As soon as we arrived in the room, we found that the terrace was dirty, the curtains were also stained, and the bathroom towels were torn and dirty. In addition, the air conditioning barely worked. It was on, but hardly cooled the room at all, which was especially worrying as it was August.
We immediately reported the air conditioning issue and were told a technician would be notified. However, during our stay, the situation remained virtually unchanged. We can’t know if the technician came while we were out, but the fact is the problem was never fixed and we had to put up with unsuitable temperatures throughout our stay.
As for cleaning, we also found it clearly insufficient. There was hardly any proper cleaning of the room, bathroom or terrace until the second-to-last day, when a staff member gave it a clean that we did consider adequate. This makes us think the problem was not an inability to do the job properly, but that the cleaning simply wasn’t being done right on other days.
When it comes to the food, both the variety and quality were quite disappointing. What we did find genuinely good was mainly the food cooked on the grill, but for the five days, the options were very repetitive, with dishes such as chicken, mackerel, pasta sholidays and hake being offered almost every day.
Also, although the buffet hours stated it was open until 3:00 pm, items like fruit were already unavailable if you arrived around 2:45 pm, and they were not restocked. We believe if service is until 3:00 pm, all items included in the buffet should remain available right up until it ends.
Another aspect that surprised us was the state of the pool and waterWater Slides. Visually, the pool is very attractive and could be a major draw for the hotel. However, the water was so cloudy that we could barely see our own feet, which we found particularly concerning in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. The Water Slides, meanwhile, relied on a hose for sliding, which we found rather inappropriate for a hotel of this standard.
We also want to mention the air conditioning issue in the communal areas. We were uncomfortably hot not just in our room, but also in different areas of the hotel, including the dining room and reception. In the middle of August, we feel these facilities should have adequate climate control for the number of guests.
Additionally, we found the dining room far too small for the number of guests, leading to a feeling of overcrowding. On top of this, large fans were used to cope with the heat, which was not an adequate solution.
Another major problem was the lifts. The hotel has only two lifts, each with a maximum capacity of four people, and during our stay, one of them broke down at precisely one of the busiest times, when most guests were returning from the beach and pool. This led to long waits and considerable difficulties in accessing the rooms.
We also found the entertainment and leisure options insufficient. The entertainment was limited to specific performances on certain days, and beyond that, the hotel offered very few other leisure alternatives. To do any other activities, you had to drive elsewhere.
We would especially like to highlight a situation we found particularly contradictory.
Before our arrival, as check-in was at 3:00 pm, we called the hotel to ask if we could have lunch on the last day instead of the first, since we would arrive at check-in time. We were told this was not possible.
However, on the second-to-last day, knowing we would be leaving in the morning, we asked if they could prepare a picnic for us to have the meal we’d missed on the last day. We were told the hotel doesn’t provide picnics and that if we wanted to switch our meal, we should have called earlier.
When we explained that we had in fact called before our arrival to request this change and were told it wasn’t possible, the response was simply that those were the hotel rules.
We feel this situation shows a lack of coordination and information and seems particularly unfair, since we did exactly as we were told before travelling.
With all this said, we want to make it clear that the hotel staff were, on the whole, polite, friendly and courteous, and we understand they do what they can within their means. Our complaint is not intended to blame the staff personally, but to highlight the overall state of the facilities, the cleaning, the maintenance, the air conditioning, the catering and the organisation of the service.
We also want to acknowledge the positive aspects: the view from our seventh-floor room was spectacular, especially overlooking the harbour entrance, and we think the pool is a very attractive facility. We also appreciated that water was included with meals, even though we had booked a Full Board without drinks.
Precisely because we have tried to take both the positives and negatives into account, we consider that our overall experience was clearly unsatisfactory.
We were not expecting a luxury hotel or perfect facilities, but we did expect reasonable standards of cleanliness, maintenance, climate control, catering and organisation, especially considering the price paid and the features offered at booking.
We feel we paid for a service that was not delivered as expected and that the problems described were not isolated incidents, but a series of deficiencies that affected almost our entire stay.
We await your response and a satisfactory solution.
If necessary, we can provide photographs, videos and any other documentation we have relating to the conditions we found during our stay.

Lamentablemente, la experiencia ha estado muy por debajo de lo que esperábamos y de las condiciones que entendíamos que estábamos contratando. Nuestro objetivo durante este viaje era descansar y desconectar, pero desde el primer día nos encontramos con diferentes problemas que se mantuvieron durante prácticamente toda la estancia.
Nada más llegar a la habitación, nos encontramos con que la terraza estaba sucia, las cortinas también presentaban suciedad y las toallas del baño estaban rotas y sucias. Además, el aire acondicionado apenas funcionaba. Estaba fijo, pero prácticamente no enfriaba la habitación, algo especialmente preocupante al encontrarnos en pleno mes de agosto.
Informamos de inmediato del problema del aire acondicionado y se nos indicó que se avisaría a un técnico. Sin embargo, durante nuestra estancia la situación continuó prácticamente igual. No podemos saber si el técnico llegó a acudir mientras estábamos fuera, pero lo cierto es que el problema no quedó solucionado y tuvimos que soportar unas condiciones de temperatura poco adecuadas durante la estancia.
En cuanto a la limpieza, consideramos que también ha sido claramente insuficiente. Prácticamente no vimos una limpieza adecuada de la habitación, baño y terraza hasta el penúltimo día, cuando una trabajadora realizó una limpieza que sí consideramos correcta. Esto nos hace pensar que el problema no era la imposibilidad de realizar una limpieza adecuada, sino que durante los días anteriores esta no se estaba realizando correctamente.
Respecto a la restauración, la variedad y calidad de la comida también nos ha decepcionado considerablemente. Lo que encontrábamos que estaba realmente bueno era principalmente lo que preparaban a la plancha, pero durante los cinco días la oferta resultaba muy repetitiva, con platos como pollo, caballa, cintas y merluza que se repetían prácticamente a diario.
Además, aunque el horario del buffet indicaba que estaba abierto hasta las 15:00 horas, si se llegaba aproximadamente a las 14:45 horas ya había productos que no estaban disponibles, como fruta, y no se reponían. Consideramos que si el horario de servicio termina a las 15:00 horas, los productos incluidos en el buffet deberían mantenerse disponibles hasta la finalización del servicio.
Otro aspecto que nos ha sorprendido ha sido el estado de la piscina y los toboganes. La piscina, visualmente, es muy bonita y podría ser uno de los grandes atractivos del hotel. Sin embargo, el agua estaba tan turbia que prácticamente no podíamos ver nuestros propios pies, algo que nos pareció especialmente preocupante desde el punto de vista de la limpieza y mantenimiento. Los toboganes, además, funcionaban utilizando una manguera para facilitar el deslizamiento, algo que nos pareció bastante poco apropiado para las instalaciones de un hotel de estas características.
También queremos destacar el problema de climatización en las zonas comunes. Hemos pasado calor no solamente en la habitación, sino también en diferentes zonas del hotel, incluido el comedor y la recepción. En pleno mes de agosto, consideramos que estas instalaciones deberían disponer de una climatización adecuada para el número de huéspedes.
El comedor, además, nos pareció demasiado pequeño para la cantidad de personas alojadas, generando una sensación de saturación. A esto se añadía el uso de grandes ventiladores debido al calor, lo cual tampoco resultaba una solución adecuada.
Otro problema importante fueron los ascensores. El hotel dispone únicamente de dos ascensores, con una capacidad máxima de cuatro personas, y durante nuestra estancia uno de ellos dejó de funcionar precisamente en una de las horas de mayor afluencia, cuando la mayoría de huéspedes regresábamos de la playa y la piscina. Esto provocó esperas y dificultades importantes para poder acceder a las habitaciones.
También consideramos insuficiente la oferta de animación y ocio. La animación se limitaba a determinadas actuaciones en días concretos y, fuera de eso, el hotel ofrece pocas alternativas de ocio. Para poder realizar otras actividades era necesario desplazarse en coche.
Queremos hacer una mención especial a un punto que nos ha resultado especialmente contradictorio.
Antes de nuestra llegada, teniendo en cuenta que el check-in era a las 15:00 horas, llamamos previamente al hotel para preguntar si podíamos realizar la comida el último día en lugar del primero, ya que llegábamos a la hora de entrada. Se nos indicó que no era posible.
Sin embargo, el penúltimo día, sabiendo que nos marcharíamos por la mañana, preguntamos si podían prepararnos un picnic para poder disponer de la comida que no habíamos podido realizar el último día. Se nos indicó que el hotel no preparaba picnic y que, si queríamos cambiar la comida, teníamos que haber llamado antes.
Cuando explicamos que precisamente habíamos llamado antes de nuestra llegada para solicitar ese cambio y que se nos había indicado que no era posible, la respuesta fue simplemente que esas eran las normas del hotel.
Consideramos que esta situación demuestra una falta de coordinación e información y nos parece especialmente injusta, ya que hicimos precisamente lo que se nos indicó antes de viajar.
Dicho todo esto, queremos dejar claro que el personal del hotel, en general, fue correcto, amable y educado, y entendemos que los trabajadores hacen lo que pueden dentro de sus posibilidades. Nuestra reclamación no pretende responsabilizar personalmente a los empleados, sino poner de manifiesto el estado general de las instalaciones, la limpieza, el mantenimiento, la climatización, la restauración y la organización del servicio.
También queremos reconocer los aspectos positivos: las vistas desde nuestra habitación en la séptima planta eran espectaculares, especialmente por la zona de salida del puerto, y consideramos que la piscina es una instalación muy bonita. Asimismo, valoramos positivamente que el agua estuviera incluida durante las comidas pese a haber contratado una pensión completa sin bebidas incluidas.
Precisamente porque hemos intentado valorar tanto lo positivo como lo negativo, consideramos que nuestra experiencia global ha sido claramente insatisfactoria.
No esperábamos un hotel de lujo ni unas instalaciones perfectas, pero sí considerábamos razonable encontrar unas condiciones adecuadas de limpieza, mantenimiento, climatización, restauración y organización, especialmente teniendo en cuenta el precio abonado y las características del establecimiento que se ofrecían en el momento de la contratación.
Consideramos que hemos pagado por un servicio que no se ha prestado en las condiciones esperadas y que los problemas descritos no corresponden a una incidencia puntual, sino a una acumulación de deficiencias que han afectado prácticamente a toda nuestra estancia.
Quedamos a la espera de su respuesta y de una solución satisfactoria.

The photos have nothing to do with reality: neglected facilities, dreadful, repetitive and poor food (the only thing worth saving was the breakfast).
Cleaning was non-existent — in the room they just used air freshener and little else; the communal areas were dirty, the dining room appallingly so. And air conditioning? Ha — there wasn’t any in the main areas (only broken, filthy fans) and it failed in the room.
In short, it’s not fit to be called a four-star hotel.
Entertainment was almost non-existent, only two days a week.
By far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

We are a family of five and stayed for five days, four nights. There are no rooms for more than four people, so we stayed in two rooms. We requested connecting rooms in advance and were told they were occupied. They initially allocated one room on the 4th floor and the other on the 8th. I asked them to put us on the same floor and they did. The rooms were very large and lovely! Each had its own balcony and a very spacious bathroom. I was very influenced by the reviews I had read about the hotel, especially about cleanliness, because I only saw negative comments. It isn’t as bad as they say; I think that because the floor is black, the smallest amount of dirt shows up twice as much as on a lighter-coloured floor. It is true that there are communal areas, like the one leading to the car park, that are very neglected — it’s the spa area, which is not in use. So it’s understandable that it looks like it’s being worked on, and construction areas aren’t clean.
The large Water Slides broke twice and were repaired the same day. What still doesn’t work is the bucket in the children’s area; I called a few days beforehand to ask about the Water Slides and was told it wasn’t working, and it still isn’t — they haven’t fixed it.

No hay habitaciones de más de 4 personas y nos alojamos en dos habitaciones, pedimos con antelación unas habitaciones comunicadas y nos dijeron que estaban ocupadas. Nos daban una habitación en la 4º planta y otra en la 8º. Les dije que por favor nos las pusieran en la misma planta y nos la dieron. Las habitaciones súper grandes y bonitas!! Cada una con su balcón, y aseo muy amplio. Fui muy condicionada por los comentarios que leía sobre el hotel, sobre todo por la limpieza, porque solo veía comentarios malos. No es tanto, como dicen, lo que yo pienso es que al ser el suelo negro la mínima suciedad se nota el doble que en otro tono de suelo. Si es verdad que hay zonas comunes como la que da al parquin que está muy descuidada, es la zona del spa, que no está habilitado. Entonces se entiende que está en obras y las obras no son limpias.
Los toboganes grandes se rompieron dos veces y los arreglaron en el mismo día. Lo que no funcionaba es el cubo de la zona infantil, que llame unos días antes para preguntar por los toboganes y ya me dijeron que no iba, y sigue sin ir, no lo han arreglado.

La presión del agua de la ducha de una de las habitaciones, era escasísima! Nos tuvimos que duchar todos en la otra habitación. Y la Calor! En la habitación el primer día, no tiene interruptores normales, son como una domótica antigua, y a veces se vuelve un poco loca, el aire nos costó entender cómo se ponía. Decir que el chico de recepción subió varias veces a ayudarnos. Y tampoco es que te congeles, por eso no abrir mucho la puerta del balcón porque se os va el fresquito. El calor del comedor, el primer día no habían ventiladores, luego ya los pusieron. Si podéis, coger mesa cerca de ellos, mejor!! porque aunque estén puestos hace calor. La limpieza de las mesas, los mantelitos los mismos que los anteriores comensales y tener cuidado al sentarse en la silla, porque puede que esté manchada del anterior o de limpiar la mesa y tirar los restos en las sillas.
Pero en general le doy un 7 porque calidad- precio está bien!

The same in the rooms: a whole week enduring the heat. The pool was like hot broth — there was no way to cool off. The spa closed, half finished... what a disaster, you aren't comfortable anywhere. We had a booking for three triple rooms and they had to give us premium rooms because none of the three we had booked had a third bed (and there wasn't space to add a rollaway). The hotel itself feels half done: the Water Slides in the children's pools had hoses instead of the proper water pipes because the installation wasn't working; you got silicone on yourself in parts of the pool; the central fountain was off; the play area was closed. When you asked staff why, they just smiled at each other instead of answering. There is no animation or entertainment for children; the evening shows were on alternate nights and laughable for an advertised four‑star hotel. The dining room offered minimal, insufficient and repetitive food. I don't know how they got four stars — it's not even two. We met people who stayed one day and said they were going to ask for a refund and go to the hotel next door. The hotel is isolated from everything... I don't recommend it at all. I'm not usually picky with hotels — we like almost anything and haven't had complaints with those we've stayed in before; they may have ups and downs but this is a complete disaster. The bathrooms were broken, dirty and had a urine stench so strong you couldn't even go in. I've never seen anything like it.
no funciona bien el aire acondicionado en todo el hotel...pasillos, holl,ascensores(es un infierno),en el comedor con la camiseta pegada al cuerpo,pusieron el segundo dia ventiladores y el tercero aerotermos pero aun asi o caias delante de uno o te tirabas la comida o la cena sudando,luego en la habitacion mas de lo mismo, semana entera aguantando el calor,la piscina caldo de pollo no ha habido manera de refrescarse, el spa cerrado medio hacer...menudo desastre no estas bien en ningun sitio, teniamos reserva de 3 triples y nos tubieron que dar habitaciones premium porque ninguna de las 3 que teniamos reserbadas tenia la tercera cama(ni cabian para poner la supletoria). El hotel en si esta como a medias,los toboganes de las piscinas infantiles en vez del agua que corresponde por tuberias habian puesto una manguera porque no funcionaba la instalacion,te manchabas de silicona en algunos puntos de la piscina,fuente central de las piscinas apagada,la zona de juegos cerrada,preguntabas al personal por que y en vez de contestar sonreian entre ellos.No hay animacion ni entretenimiento para niños, los espectaculos por la noche eran dia si y dia no,siendo ridiculos para un supuesto 4 estrellas.el comedor con comida minima,justa y repetitiva.no se de donde se han sacado las 4 estrellas no llega ni a 2. hemos conocido a gente que estaban 1 dia y decian que iban a pedir el dinero de la reserva y se iban al de al lado.hotel apartado de todo...no lo recomiendo nada, no suelo ser exquisito con los hoteles nos gusta cualquier cosa y no teniamos pegas hasta ahora de los que hemos estado,pueden tener sus mas y sus menos pero esto es un autentico desastre. los baños averiados sucios y con una peste a meado que no se podia ni entrar.no he visto cosa igual.

Disappointing
Terrible cleanliness, no ventilation in the facilities, the dining room was a dump — not enough crockery for everyone so we had to wait, and with just two air-conditioning units it was unbearably hot. The room we were given couldn’t be aired because it faced the pool, so towels couldn’t dry. The food was close to causing food poisoning, and the organisation for payments and buffet meals was dreadful.
Pesima limpieza, sin ventilación en las instalaciones, el comedor un cuchitril son vajilla para todos habia q esperar y con dos pinguisno6de aire un calor q no se podía ni estar, la habitación q nos dieron sin poder ventilar porque daba a la piscina con lo cual las toallas nonse podía secar, comida la borde de la intoxicación alimentaria, pesima organizacion para pagos y comidas de batalla

Disappointing
Nothing, the beach is good for children but the hotel is no good.

The bathroom sockets didn’t work, and housekeeping every day had to be asked for missing towels and some days didn’t even clean the whole room. The key has to be requested to be reprogrammed EVERY day. The air conditioning in the room in the morning is never enough at 35°C; at night it’s cold but you can’t switch it off unless the fuses are turned down. Different water Water Slides break every day or they close all three; the children’s slide doesn’t work at all. There’s no air conditioning in the public areas, so by mealtimes it’s sweltering and you lose your appetite. They run out of supplies and don’t restock. Entertainment is terrible: only 3 days out of the 7, and the entertainer is there just 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, often spending time preparing. You go to reception and they type your complaint into the computer, but after waiting all day you ask if they’ve done anything and they haven’t. Talking to them is useless. I have photos and video of everything because they took my complaint form for consumer services and sent it to Murcia tourism to inspect the hotel, which shouldn’t even be open given all the reckless practices.
El baño no funcionaba enchufes, la limpieza todos los días pidiendo las toallas que faltan y algún día no hacen ni la habitación al completo, la llave hay que pedir TODOS los días que la codifiquen, el aire fijo en la habitación por la mañana no es suficiente a 35* en la habitación por la noche frío pero no se puede quitar si no baja los plomos, toboganes cada día se rompe uno diferente o los cierran los 3, el de los pequeños no funciona nada, no tienen aire acondicionado en zonas comunes por lo que vas a comer cayéndote la gota gorda se te quitan las ganas y todo!! Se les acaban las cosas y no reponen,animación pésima 3 días de los 7 de la semana y el animador viene 2h por la mañana y 2h por la tarde está el solo para preparar las cosas se le va el tiempo también…vas a recepción y escriben tu reclamación en el ordenador después de esperar todo el día les dices si han hecho algo y no lo han hecho!!! No sirve de nada hablar con ellos… tengo fotos y vídeo de todo porque de mí se han llevado una hoja de reclamaciones para consumo y a turismo de Murcia para que inspeccionen el hotel que no debería ni estar abierto de todas las imprudencias que tienen también…

The room was very good, the air conditioning perfect and the cleaning excellent.
La habitación muy buena, el aire acondicionado perfecto, limpieza también..
There was a lack of ventilation in the main areas and dining room. As for the pool, on one day the fountain — which was a major attraction — wasn’t working, and the jacuzzi wasn’t either. The children’s area with Water Slides was also out of order; in fact I was told that throughout the whole summer neither the children’s area nor the jacuzzi worked. The adult pool’s pump frequently failed. The food was good but could be improved for a four-star hotel. Would I return? I don’t think so.
Pues falta de aire en zonas comunes, comedor, el tema de la piscina para un día que baje no funcionaba la fuente que era un gran reclamo, el jacuzzi tampoco, la zona de los niños con toboganes tampoco funcionaba y de hecho me dijeron que en todo el verano no funcionó ni la zona de los niños, ni el jacuzzi.. el de los adultos falla mucho la bomba que subía el agua.. la comida buena se podía mejorar al ser un 4 estrellas.. repetiría? No creo…

Disappointing
The only good things I can say about the accommodation are the friendly staff and the clean, comfortable rooms. The pools were warm, but the children’s play areas were not working. Drinks included Pepsi and Kas brands, and alcohol was served from dispensers.
Lo unico q puedo decir bueno del alojamiento es el buen trato del personal y las habitaciones limpias y cómodas, las piscinas calientes los boganes infantiles no funcionaban , la bebida marca Pepsi y kas y alcohol de garrafon.
As it’s a 4-star hotel, they should improve the quality of drinks and food and, above all, the air conditioning, as it was too hot to be in the dining room, and the children’s playroom was very hot.
Ya q es un 4 estrellas deberían mejorar en calidad de bebidas y comidas y sobre todo en aire acondicionado q en el comedor no se podía estar del calor q hacia y la sala de juegos infantil mucho calor
