The food was good, the rooms with sea views were very nice, and all the hotel staff were very friendly.

The air conditioning only has three settings and there's no thermostat, the shower has a weak water flow and is difficult to adjust, and the all-inclusive package is the first hotel I've been to that ends at noon on the day you leave.

Food was not very varied; on more than one occasion an item ran out and was not restocked because they said they had none left. The waiters were unfriendly — when you went for a second helping they didn’t clear the empty plates. For Halloween there was very little decoration and the costume reply was dull; the entertainment was poor. I stayed last year at their Calafell hotel and it was much better — I will go back to Calafell.

The elevators are not compatible with the volume of people. And the little treats placed around the hotel and the Halloween-themed decorations.

The bathroom smelled of drains, and on entering the room there was a musty rather than a clean smell, but after airing the room for a while the odour went away. The bathroom still sometimes gave off a smell.
The lifts can be a little slow at peak times due to the number of people using them; otherwise they work very well. This is something to bear in mind for guests who have difficulty using stairs.
El baño olía a tuberías , y al entrar a la habitación daba sensación de oler a cerrado, en vez de sensación de oler a limpio pero bueno tras ventilar un poco la habitación el olor se fue. Aunque el baño a veces desprendía olor.
Los ascensores pueden ser un poco lentos en horas puntas por la cantidad de personas que los utilizan, si no, van muy bien! Pero es algo a tener en cuenta para personas con dificultades para subir/bajar escaleras.

The rooms are fine — the interior furniture and bathroom have been renovated, though the interior doors are in poor condition. They have a very pleasant terrace, but you can only see the sea from the top two floors.
The staff are very friendly and attentive: reception, housekeeping, waiters, entertainers...
The main areas aren’t very large but are comfortable. The café is nice, with plenty of small tables and glass walls, which makes it very pleasant. There is an outdoor terrace by the pool for drinks. The pool loungers are comfortable and relatively new.
Las habitaciones no están mal, han reformado el mobiliario interior y el baño, pero las puertas de paso están fatal. Tienen una terraza muy agradable, pero sólo se ve el mar si estás en las 2 últimas plantas.
El personal es muy amable y atento: recepción, limpieza, camareros, animadores...
Los espacios comunes no son muy grandes pero son confortables. La cafetería está bien, con bastantes mesitas y paredes de cristal por lo que resulta muy agradable. Hay terraza exterior junto a la piscina para tomar algo. Las tumbonas de la piscina son cómodas y bastante nuevas.
The beds are uncomfortable. One of them had the base and mattress in poor condition so you sank into it. We reported this to reception when we left and they said they would check it. We didn’t mention it earlier because we only stayed 2 nights and there were 3 beds in the room, so as there were just two of us we used the other one.
The hot water is unstable; the temperature fluctuates constantly so you either freeze or scald yourself.
There are too few lifts and they are very slow for so many guests, with huge queues to go up or down at any time, so you end up using the stairs. This is a problem if you have to climb 3, 4 or 5 floors, are carrying suitcases or have mobility issues. I don’t want to think what it will be like in July and August when the hotel is full.
There are long queues at the entrance to the restaurant. The food is very basic for a 4-star hotel; there is variety but everything is simply prepared and of average/low quality.
Las camas son incómodas. Una de ellas tenía el somier y colchón en malas condiciones por lo que te hundías. Lo dijimos en recepción al marcharnos y comentaron que lo revisarían. No avisamos antes porque sólo estuvimos 2 noches y además en la habitación había 3 camas y cómo sólo éramos 2 usamos la otra.
El agua caliente no es estable, varia constantemente la temperatura por lo que te congelas o te quemas.
Los ascensores son escasos y muy lentos para tantos huéspedes, unas filas tremendas para subir o bajar a cualquier hora por lo que acabas usando las escaleras. Esto es un problema si tienes que subir 3,4,5 plantas, llevas maletas o tienes problemas de movilidad. No quiero ni pensar lo que ocurrirá en Julio y Agosto con el hotel lleno.
En el acceso al restaurante se forman bastantes colas. La comida es muy básica para un 4 estrellas, hay variedad pero todo con elaboraciones muy sencillas y calidad media/baja.

The cleanliness is a bit… and in the lounge there’s a lingering food smell that won’t come out of clothes or hair — terrible! There was smoke in the lounge due to a poor extraction system, it even made my eyes sting.

Overall the experience was good. The hotel's location is excellent, as it is next to Platja dels Capellans, which is beautiful. It's also within easy walking distance of Salou's main beach promenade and the shopping area, if you prefer. I think the cleanliness is very good overall and the hotel seems to have been refurbished recently. The staff were generally helpful, but I would like to especially mention Gladis from the children's entertainment team for her warmth with children. Since we went for Halloween, the entertainment was enjoyable and kept us entertained every day.
En general la experiencia ha estado bien. La localización del hotel está genial, porque está junto a la platja dels Capellans, que es preciosa. Además no queda muy lejos para ir andando al paseo de la playa principal de Salou y a toda la zona comercial, si lo prefieres. La limpieza creo que es muy buena en general y el hotel parece reformado de no hace mucho. El personal en general ha sido correcto, pero me gustaría mencionar especialmente a Gladis, de la animación infantil, por su afecto con los/las más peques. Al haber ido por Halloween debo decir que la animación ha estado bien y que hemos estado entretenidos todos los días.
There isn’t much free car park nearby. The hotel has a car park, but it is chargeable.
Another issue I think they should seriously consider improving is the smoke in the dining room. Without exaggerating, a kind of haze builds up on the left-hand side that makes your eyes water and leaves your clothes and hair smelling of food. I believe this is an important matter they should address with a more effective extraction system.
Another aspect I would improve, and which isn’t costly, is the signage to find places within the hotel (restaurant, miniclub, bar, reception...).
No hay demasiado sitio para aparcar por los alrededores gratis. El hotel dispone de párquing, pero de pago. Otra cosa que creo que deberían mirar seriamente de mejorar es el tema de los humos en el comedor. Sin exagerar, se crea como una niebla en la zona del lateral izquierdo importante que te hace hasta llorar los ojos y salir con peste a comidas en la ropa y el pelo. Creo que es una cuestión importante que deberían mejorar con un sistema de extracción de humos más eficaz. Otro aspecto que mejoraría y que no cuesta tanto, es el de las indicaciones para encontrar los sitios dentro del hotel (restaurante, miniclub, bar, recepción...).

The rooms have comfortable beds and are very clean. The entertainment staff is good, especially Marina, who is a delight and an excellent singer. The dining room staff are all very nice, but Ian takes the cake. He is a super polite and very, very nice boy. The location is spectacular, as are the facilities. The pools are small but not at all crowded. The desserts are delicious.

The rooms need some renovation. There isn't much food to choose from, although what's available is good. The cafeteria staff aren't anything special, very slow, and occasionally very grumpy and rude.
