The base is at the northern end of Lake Derg, where ships can anchor and moor the ship safely in the seaport of Portumna Bay. It is also a cruise ship base and the city is just a few minutes walk away. Accommodation on board a ship offers a comfortable alternative to a hotel room. The boats offer flexibility: you can choose between using it as a base point in a specific place or for cruising and stopping at the desired destinations. Diesel will be supplied to the ship (to be paid upon arrival) and a full tank of water, enough for 2 or 3 days. There are stations to fill the water tank from time to time along the coastal canals. Depending on how many cabins are reserved, it is possible that 2 more people can sleep in an extra bed / sofa in the living room. The cabins include bathrooms with shower and hairdryer, and all of them have a well-equipped kitchen and living room with gas hobs, cooker, microwave, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities, as well as crockery, pots and pans sufficient for the number of people on board. You will be provided with towels (but not beach) and sheets, plus life jackets for each person on board (it is recommended that children carry them all the time) and a lifeguard on each boat. The cabins also have a radio and stereo, as well as adjustable heating.
